Working Environment Requirements for UV Printer
- Workshop LightingAvoid direct sunlight shining on the equipment surface. Otherwise, the ink will clog the printheads and result in permanent printhead damage.
Solution: Install blackout curtains. Place the machine in a cool and dry area.
- Air QualityThe working area shall be free of excessive dust and particles. Keep low air circulation to prevent air convection which causes ink misting during printing.
Solution: Adopt an enclosed working space. Paint walls white and apply floor coating to reduce dust generation.
- Air HumidityMaintain relative humidity between 30% and 60%. Operation in an overly dry environment easily generates static electricity that impairs printing quality. Static tends to build up on acrylic, wood panels, metal sheets, glass and other substrates. Severe static discharge may burn out electrical components including printheads and mainboards.
Solution: Equip the machine with static eliminators, or connect the machine to a proper earth ground during installation to avoid static damage.
- Ambient TemperatureKeep temperature within 18–30°C. Extreme high or low temperature is prohibited. High temperature may cure ink prematurely and clog printheads; low temperature reduces ink fluidity. Maintaining optimal operating temperature ensures smooth ink flow, extends printhead service life and guarantees stable print quality.
Solution: Some manufacturers use silicone heating belts on secondary ink cartridges to maintain ink fluidity at low temperatures, effectively reducing ink viscosity issues under cold conditions.
- Floor FlatnessA perfectly level floor is preferred. Uneven ground will tilt the machine and lead to printing registration errors.
Solution: Keep the floor flat and clear debris around the equipment. Adjust the four leveling casters and fix the machine to ensure stable operation and consistent print quality.
- Independent Power Circuit & EarthingVoltage instability occurs in some regions of China. It is recommended that customers prepare a separate transformer. Unstable voltage or sudden power failure may cause damage to circuit boards and other electrical parts. Use an independent power circuit and reliable grounding.
- Ventilation Fan InstallationInstall exhaust fans to dissipate pungent fumes generated by UV ink and coating liquids.
- Magnetic & Resonance InterferenceDo not install equipment with magnetic fields or resonant vibration in the same workshop as the UV printer, otherwise normal printing will be affected.
The installation and operation requirements vary for different UV printer models. Always follow the installation and operation manual provided by the manufacturer.
